Understanding the state of your data is critical for accurate reporting. The Submissions Inbox uses a tabbed filtering system to instantly segment your entries based on their completion status.

Completed vs. Partial Data

If you have enabled Partial Submissions in your Form Settings, Flex Forms will silently save data as the respondent types. This means the Inbox contains two distinct types of data:

Completed

The respondent successfully reached the end of the form and clicked the final Submit button. This is a converted lead.

Partial (Abandoned)

The respondent filled out a few fields but closed their browser before finishing. This is an abandoned lead.

The top of the Inbox features three quick-access tabs that control exactly what data is displayed.
1

All

Displays the raw, unfiltered firehose of data. This includes both Completed and Partial rows, giving you a complete view of all interaction.
2

Completed

The most important tab. This filters out all abandoned attempts, leaving only verified, finished conversions. You should always use this tab before exporting data to a CRM.
3

Partial

Filters down to only abandoned sessions. This is a goldmine for UX research—you can look at these rows to see exactly which question caused respondents to give up.
Integration Safety: Third-party integrations (like Zapier, Webhooks, or Email Notifications) only trigger on Completed submissions. You never have to worry about an unfinished Partial row triggering a welcome email prematurely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. If a respondent closes their laptop, but returns later (within the same browser session) and finishes the form, Flex Forms intelligently upgrades their existing Partial row to Completed, preventing duplicate entries.
Usually, no. If you export Partial rows into your sales CRM, your sales team will waste time calling leads that have missing data. Always click the Completed tab before generating a CSV export for external systems.
