> Never invent APIs; match the real Flex Forms package behavior.

# Pexels stock photos

  Create a free API key at [pexels.com/api](https://www.pexels.com/api/). Flex Forms keeps the key on the server — Studio never sees it in the browser.

The **Pexels** integration unlocks a stock-photo tab in the Studio cover picker. Search landscape photos, click one, and Flex Forms downloads it into your form’s design storage (with photographer credit metadata).

## Setup

  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect in Flex Forms">
    Open **Integrations** → **Pexels**, paste the API key, enable the integration, and save. The connection test must succeed before Studio unlocks search.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use in Studio">
    Open a form → cover picker → **Pexels** tab → search → click a photo. The image is imported as a normal cover asset.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Notes

* Pexels is a **platform** integration (like Mapbox), not a per-submission feed.
* Photos are copied into your app storage so public forms do not hotlink Pexels forever.
* Respect [Pexels guidelines](https://www.pexels.com/license/) when using photos commercially.
* If search fails with an auth error, rotate the API key in Integrations and save again.
