# The Contacts CRM Workflow

> Automatically build a unified directory of every human who interacts with your forms. Search, sort, and export with ease.

Forms don't just collect abstract data; they collect people.

The **Contacts** directory is a built-in, lightweight CRM. Every time a user completes a submission that includes their Name or Email, the Flex Forms engine automatically extracts their identity and builds a unified profile across all your forms.

  Extract --> Contact[Profile_Created_or_Updated]
  Contact --> Directory[Global_Contacts_Directory]
  Directory --> Search[Search_and_Filter]
  Directory → Export[Export_to_CSV]
  Directory → CRM[Sync_to_External_CRM]
```
CSV export downloads as a streamed file (filters applied) so large directories do not freeze the Studio tab.
## The unified Profile
Instead of hunting through hundreds of raw submissions to find "Jane Doe", you can simply open the Contacts directory.
  **Intelligent Deduplication:** If Jane Doe submits your "Contact Us" form on Monday, and your "Giveaway" form on Friday, the engine does *not* create two duplicate contacts. It intelligently updates her existing profile, incrementing her engagement score and updating her *Last Seen* timestamp.
