# Is before (relative)

> When clause operator: The date answer is before a relative anchor such as today or +7d.

**Is before (relative)** compares a date answer to a rolling anchor.

Supported anchors: `today`, `+7d`, `-1d`, `+2w`, `+1m`, `-1y` (days, weeks, months, years).

Blank answers and invalid anchors never match.
