# Show blocks

> Then action: Make the chosen fields visible again.

**Show blocks** turns selected fields **on** — they become visible on the fill form while the parent rule’s **When** clause matches.

Use it for follow-up questions, conditional sections, and progressive disclosure paired with [Require answer](/features/studio/logic/actions/require-answer).

Default visibility comes from each block’s own settings. **Show** overrides a prior **Hide** only if this rule matches **last** among conflicting rules.

## Exact behavior

* Target blocks switch to **visible** on fill while **When** is true.
* Previously hidden answers may reappear **empty** if [Hide blocks](/features/studio/logic/actions/hide-blocks) cleared them earlier — Show does not restore old values.
* Showing alone does **not** make a field required — add **Require answer** if needed.
* Fields on **other pages** become visible in schema but only appear when that page is active.
* Calculated targets can be shown like any other block; formulas keep updating.

## Worked examples

### Enterprise plan details

> **When** Industry **equals** `Other` → **Show blocks** `Please specify industry` + **Require answer** `Please specify industry`

### Progressive disclosure

## Common mistakes

* Showing without **Require** when follow-up is mandatory.
* Two rules fighting — one Show, one Hide on same target; reorder or narrow **When**.
* Expecting Show to restore answers cleared by Hide.
* Showing blocks on a page users never reach — combine with **Jump to page** if needed.

## Troubleshooting
