> Never invent APIs; match the real Flex Forms package behavior.

# Share & Embed

> Distribute your form to the world. Configure social media previews and generate zero-code embed snippets for your website.

The **Share** screen is the distribution hub for your form. While the [Access Settings](/features/settings/access) dictate *who* can view your form, the Share screen dictates *how* it looks when it is distributed across the internet.

## Social Previews (Open Graph)

When you paste a link into Slack, iMessage, LinkedIn, or Twitter, those platforms automatically generate a "Preview Card".

If you do not configure your Social Preview, those platforms will display a blank, generic card. You can customize this directly in the Share panel to ensure your form looks professional and trustworthy.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Define the Title">
    The primary headline of the preview card. Keep it under **120 characters**. (e.g., *"Register for the 2024 Developer Summit"*).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write the Description">
    A brief subtitle that appears below the headline. Keep it under **300 characters** to prevent truncation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Upload the Thumbnail">
    Upload a high-resolution image to serve as the card's visual anchor.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  **Optimal Image Dimensions:** For the crispest, uncropped result across all platforms, upload an image that is exactly **1200 × 630 pixels** (a standard 1.91:1 ratio).
</Tip>

## Publishing Pathways

Once your form is published and your social preview is set, you have two primary ways to distribute it to respondents.

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="The Direct Link" icon="link" href="/features/forms/fill-link">
    The simplest method. Share the raw URL directly via email campaigns, SMS, or QR codes. The form operates as a standalone landing page.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Website Embedding" icon="code" href="/features/share/embed-modes">
    Keep respondents on your own domain. Generate an HTML snippet to embed the form directly into your existing website seamlessly.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Warning>
  **Branding Context:** The Social Preview only affects how the *link* looks when shared on third-party platforms. It does **not** change the internal header image or the background color of the form itself. To modify the form's actual visual design, use the [Studio Customization Panel](/features/studio/customize).
